Cake baking session

my first time baking a cake.. 2 cakes somemore. the Epsilon decided to bake our own cake for Edmund's 17th Birthday which falls on TODAY!!!! well, you see, he got his friends to celebrate for him... so we can only celebrate a BELATED one for him.

so last minute of baking a cake for him.. LOL.

right after work, meet the other 4 members at Anchor Point to have dinner first and then to Cold Storage to shop for ingredients. took our own sweet time eating, choosing items, strolling around and finally made our way to Xue Ni's house. somewhere nearby Ikea~

reached her house at around 9pm!

just something to share. baking cake was not easy. we used up ALOT of our precious time, especially MY SLEEPING time!!! it took us 8 hours to complete in baking all those cakes!!!

let me show you how it goes.....

and then, we started the cake making... with Xue Ni, the cake professional. she got countless of experience in baking a cake, while i have NONE at all.

so... we have whisking, mixing, boiling, bla bla bla... i really have no idea how to bake, so just take a look below.

to show Edmund that WE USED OUR HANDS TO SPREAD THE BUTTER.

haha, look how unhygienic we were.

and then, we started next with the Sponge Cake. troublesome one . if i never remembered wrongly, we have to bake the cake for like 50 minutes, let it cool down for awhile. put it inside the freezer for sometimes, and then lastly we have to defrost it for 1 hour.

so while waiting for like almost 2 hours.

the sponge cake was done.

and that was just the very first steps. because this sponge cake was going to be THE BASE of the Chocolate Cheesecake. we only need like 1/3 of the cake. Xue Ni needs to slice off from the bottom. that means, the other 2/3 of the cake will ends up inside our stomach.. hohoho.

next, baking of Vanilla Cheesecake. needed like 1 hour plus? the procedure was mostly the same, so i shall cut those crap, and carry on.

so after ABCDEFG bla bla bla, set the timer for the cake and we went to Xue Ni's room and rot down there. taking pictures, of course.

we were actually holding the characters that we were going to cosplay this EOY.

then, we were very busy walking in and out the room and kitchen. it's like every 45 minutes we have to check the cake. so we made use of those waiting time to do something meaningful.

Ginnette and Xue Ni were busy sewing a a pillow case for Edmund. eh it's not easy, we have to cut the alphabet out using felt cloth and then needle by needle, we sew it onto the pillow case.

Vanilla Cheesecake DONE!!!

an hour passed... we were still on the sewing part. and it's time to bake the Chocolate Cheesecake. anyway, some problem occured. the chocolate milk + eggs + cheese could not boil and MIX WELL with the flour. the flour became some tiny little flour ball, hardened.

something wrong somewhere. decided not to waste it, we proceeded. (we won't die eating it =X) added in the chocolate chips. so that NOBODY will ever find out it's the tiny little flour ball or chocolate chips. haha

MIXED WELL... so that we could hide the ugly truth inside. hahaha

and then, put it inside the oven for...... 140 minutes. oh my god. waiting time again. went back to the room and continued with sewing. Ginnette and Xue Ni were the real busy one. Shun An and me totally looked like a VASE.. (definition: someone who is useless and do nothing. only know how to sit down there and 摆美). in chinese, we called them 花瓶....

we were not doing anything at all. just sittting on the floor looking at Ginnette and Xue Ni working very hard on their sewing, and we were down there FIGHTING OVER the blanket. air-con was extremely COLD. and stop making fun of my over-size-pimple. you better don't cry when i squeezed it out to your face. lol

so in order not to be a vase.. we decided to come out a birthday card... a VERY crappy and not sincere at all one. yes, ON PURPOSE.. to bluff Edmund so that he will be disappointed with us. HEH!~

we started with one A4 size blank paper. folded into half. using COLOR PENCIL and we started scribbling. looked like primary school students doing art work. haha

and here is what we wrote. not a message for him, but just something that rhymes.

and next, a very primary school kinds of drawing... drawn by Shun An.

and then, to disappoint him even more, we PURPOSELY go tear the cover of the card.. and then used scotch tape to tape it back. haha. totally got no sincerity at all. HEH!~

Ginnette and Xue Ni were still struggling with their sewings....

finally they were done at around 4am plus.

our present for Edmund...

we were still awake. but feeling super sleepy le. cake was not ready yet. oh my god. delayed and further delayed. the Chocolate Cheesecake gave us quite alot of problem. we thought it was done, but it wasn't. still need to bake it somemore. 2 hours to 3 hours..... DOTS!!!

went to sleep at around 5.45am while waiting. was so tired. air-con super cold, freezing. sleeping on the hard hard floor. we set the alarm at 6.20am, but only Xue Ni alone went to check on the cake, we were already SOUND ASLEEP.

the proudest thing i did is.....woke up at 7.30am and SWITCHED OFF THE AIR-CON.....

we actually wanted to take the first bus home. but we slept until 9.30am!~ oh shats!!! quickly cut the Chocolate and Vanilla Cheesecake into half, and then combined them together to form into ONE CAKE.

and for the left over half-half each, we cut it into 8 slices and brought it home. but when we going to go home, it rained suddenly. SUPER HEAVY. thunderstorm. borrowed umbrella from Xue Ni and go home with Shun An, while Ginnette and Xue Ni need to go Yio Chu Kang and collect their boots.

hahahaha. Shun An almost slipped and fell on the watery ground. and he ALSO AHHHHHH like a crow. LAUGHS!!~ i didn't know you are the 2nd crow!! lol
