Overnight Prawning @ Farmart
Written at Saturday, April 28, 2012 | back to top

27 April 2012 - Friday

oh yeah, this was actually my first time going for prawning. pretty excited, since, you know... i like to eat prawn hahaha. meet up with the rest of my happy family at Choa Chu Kang, and did a last minute shopping at the supermarket. yea, we have to get some drinks and snacks for the later part of the night since we will be going for an overnight prawning.

and yeah, here comes the waiting at the bus stop (pickup point) for the shuttle bus. there's time interval for the bus, and we are catching the very last shuttle bus in. currently it's still 50 cents per ride, but it will be $1 starting from 1 May onwards.

a pretty short 5-10 minutes journey, and poofffff.... we are here @ Farmart!

GROUP PICTURE!

our mini shuttle bus finally arrived.

on the bus, on the way!

welcome to Farmart Centre

yeah, first thing is to have zichar dinner. let's have a super big feast together.

ordering the foods.

our ordered dishes!!!
LET'S EAT!!!!!

and next, after that we walked around the place before settling down at the prawning area. got ourselves a pretty spacious empty spot and relaxed!!

we went to rent 2 rods for the first 3 hours first. which was $60 for 2 rods in 3 hours. awww, pretty expensive sia. anyway, we were given worms and chicken heart to act as the bait to attract those hungry prawns haha. and i must say i acted like a flower pot there not wanting to touch the heart nor the worms. haha.

my god, the worms freaked me out the most. yikes! Yvonne kept freaking me out when she brought the container of worms near me!!! eeeeww, and it's always Yvonne who killed the worm, chop them in pieces and hooked it through for me. hahaha. pardon me who acted like a flower pot the whole entire night, i really scare of those worms =S

the pool of prawns!

3 hours for 2 rods = $60
time ending at 2.10am!!

with all the required materials..
let's start!!

the night has started!

and the first prawn caught by Ginnette.

woohoo a big one indeed!

prawn ah prawn, please come to mommy!

the sibei Ah Lian pose by Yvonne!

tired an sian already!

finally my first prawn caught by me at around 2am.

and soon after, all of us started to get tired. the rest of the people started leaving the place, left us resting/napping while sitting on the chair in an awkward position. you know it's so painful to sleep in a sitting position in plastic chair. neck pain, back pain, butt pain =S

and yeah, not to waste anymore time, since everyone has left. the entire place is ours! we decided to rent one more rod for another 3 hours. and so it's another $30 for it.

1 rod for 3 hours = $30
time ending at 7.30am

we shifted our fishing fengshui place to the opposite, hoping that the fengshui there is better so we can catch more prawns. lol.

group pictures!!

and soon after, Paul and Wilson failed to stay awake and one by one go zzz. looked at the way they sleep, one like zombie, one like uncle! boo to the guys! so useless. hahaha! in the end it's the girls who stayed throughout catching those prawns!

Paul and Wilson zzz-ing

looked how hardworking Yvonne and Ginnette are. still trying hard to catch
looked at the background. 2 guys sleeping *shake head*

tired to the max

no people already.
only left the 5 of us

GOOD MORNING!!
daybreak liao loh!

returned all equipment and get ready to wash and remove the legs of the prawns!
okay, i admit. it's Ginnette and Yvonne who removed them =S

TOTAL PRAWNS CAUGHT: 23

haha. Paul brought all these from home.
soy sauce, butter, sauces to bbq the prawns

BBQ them alive.
so poor thing!

lelong lelong!

a morning day starting with prawns as breakfast.

busy busy people.

haha. well, the overnight prawning ended this morning, with us eating our one night of catch. it's a pretty fun and tired experience. yeah, for me try it for once will do, the damage of $90 for money wise is pretty high. 23 prawns for $90, like wow. i can buy kilos of prawn from Sheng Siong LOL.

hahaha. but then yea, it's the happy times you spent with your friends, the catching process and the first prawn that you managed to "hook" it up that worth the price for it. anyway, it's a FUN EXPERIENCE for me! yawns... I WANT BACK MY LOST SLEEP!!!!

Written at Saturday, April 07, 2012 | back to top

heh, celebrating Xue Ni's 25th birthday. i skipped away the first part of having a steamboat at Bugis, and only joined them afterwards, which was like around 8pm? yeah, as i'm the only one who was not with them, so was assigned to get a birthday cake for Xue Ni, and then meet them together.

managed to meet the rest of them, and walked towards Iluma for a celebration. found a random spot at top level and HAPPY BIRTHDAYING!!! hahaha.
