New Moon Big Walk 2010

finally, i reached my August post. and i'm still 2 months behind...

ok anyway, it's our New Moon Big Walk day today. we have to reach Pasir Ris White Sands by 7.30am. and the flag-off time was at 8am. so early, and it's so far away!!!

i woke up at around 5 plus to get ready, and then suddenly it started to rain heavily. i left home at 6am to meet Ginnette and Lisa at Outram MRT station at 6.30am. it was so damn cold outside when the strong wind kept blowing and the rain was getting heavier and heavier.

Ginnette overslept, and so Lisa and me went ahead first to Pasir Ris to meet Audrey and Daphne. we reached Pasir Ris at around 7.15am, and then Ginnette finally made it here shortly after.

the rain doesn't seems like it's going to stop, and there's an announcement made that the walk will be delayed to 1 hour later. if the rain persists, there's no choice but to cancel the event. and poof... there goes our $25!!!!!

and since there's an hour delay, we went to McDonald's for breakfast xD.

and after an hour, the rain still did not stop, however it's getting smaller and smaller. at least the event was not cancelled. and we can proceed out to get ready at the starting point.

it's still drizzling, and the organiser actually distributed umbrellas to the participants. i remembered at one point, the volunteer was standing at the side distributing the New Moon umbrella.

we were actually walking in the middle of the path, when we saw FREE umbrella and mostimportantly, we do not want to walk under the rain... so we actually behaved like some kiasu singaporeans, forced our way through the crowd to the corner just to get the FREE umbrellas. LOL!!~

we walked from Pasir Ris White Sands, to Pasir Ris Park.. the weather was pretty humid, probably due to the after-rain effect. ground still wet, and my damn white shoes can feel water coming in from bottom =S

anyway, time pass pretty fast.. and the same goes to the distance. we were walking, chatting, laughing and enjoying the walk. and without us knowing, we already reached the 4km signboard!!

4km reached.. with 1km more to go!!

a point when they provided us with water. looked at all the used paper cups on the ground. it's like so many!!!! haha.

oh well, we reached 4.8km finally. the last 200m was actually to cross the road and walk back to the Pasir Ris big field beside White Sands.

anyway, the 5km walk looked like a cut-short-version to us. we completed the whole 5km walk in one hour time!! we took pretty long, but how come the distance seems to be like very short to us =/ it doesn't feel like a 5km to me. lol

well, the big field looked like so kind of carnival to us. we quickly made our way to the big field to take free donut and ice-cream.

but it seems like we made a wrong choice to walk in through the grass. the grass field was so muddy and our shoes turned brownish in every step we took. the mud was so deep down that half of my shoes was covered with mud. so disgusting =/

we grabbed the donut and ice-cream and quickly walked out of the grass field to the walking path. damn the rain, if not for it, the field wouldn't be so muddy!!

anyway, we decided to go off as we do not want to step into the grass anymore. lol. so we went back to White Sands, get changed and left the place.

after much consideration and discussion, we decided to go Tampines Mall to walk walk first. we headed towards the arcade and ended up playing DDR there. and then followed by more walking and shopping around the shopping mall.

and next, we kind of got bored there, so we decided to change our location to Iluma. and so, train down to Bugis...

it was only 12 plus when we reached, so walked around the area first. and next, proceeded up to the top level for arcade =D

and then we played alot of games there. fishing game, driving game, throwing game, test our intelligence game and even basketball! haha. we had so much fun xD

we spent almost 2 hours there playing and finally left the place at 2pm. we went out to take a group picture before going off!!!

Ginnette and Lisa went down one level to play Jubeat, while the rest of us walked down to Bugis Street to continue shopping xD.

after that, we were so tired and hungry. you see, we had our breakfast so early in the morning. and then walked for 5km, and then spentt he rest of the time playing. no wonder we were like all starving. decided to had our lunch at Nando's. we queued for pretty long before we finally got a seat.

wow, wonderful lunch. after that we walked around for awhile before heading home xD

and well, the big walk was like a warm-up session for us, and all of us decided to go for the next event which will be held next month in September, the Yellow Ribbon Prison Run xD. enough of walking... and it's time to RUN..... xD
