Random Hangout: Movie | Dinner | Shopping
whee!~ a random hanging out with the NS police officers whom i knew from Subordinate Courts. pretty nice, fun and crazy to hang out with actually. the planning was kind of hard to accommodate my dates. majority of my Saturday, i have Chingay Rehearsal, so we have no choice but to make it on a Sunday instead =D
it was raining like mad when i was on my to meet them at Iluma, after waiting for all to reach, we bought Shaolin movie tickets at Filmgrade Cinema at $10 each. too bad, weekend ticket costs this much =D and then head over to Pastamania at Bugis for lunch.

Kay Wah and Seok Chin trying to be funny. adding funny ingredients into the drink?!
Eugene acting cool? and Royce blur look? lol

they added lots of funny ingredients into my mushroom soup.
and i actually drank it!!! haha.. tasted not too bad. *yummy*

all of us
Me, Kay wah, Seok Chin, Rui Feng, Eugene and Royce xD
after our lunch, we immediately walked back to Iluma for our movie which will be starting at 3pm. anyway, my first time watching at Filmgrade, not a bad experience i had. it can be considered one of the best cinema, although my top 1 cinema is still Golden Village xD
Shaolin movie is nice, just that the ending is a little too tragic. everyone died, omg!!! i like Andy Lau classic line in the movie, "他不死,我睡不着". not forgetting Jackie Chan appearance who brings joy and laughter to the audiences xD "俺不会打架".
after movie, we went to play at the arcade. walked one round first, and we started off with DDR. anyway, it's freakin' painful to dance barefooted, i kept on stepping on those screw =S don't know got bruise anot =X lol. by the way, the real DDR king is Eugene. madness, he danced until so power, like floating like that. haha.
and next, we went to play the Air Hockey. we took turns and played, and the best part was when it was Rui Feng's turn to play. he got his standby position like playing table tennis, and he played VIOLENTLY!!! can see all his evil aura floating out lol. Eugene tried one round and he gave up terribly. he said he cannot even see the plate because everything happened too fast!! LOL
i don't know why, but Rui Feng facial expression, plus his posture all looked damn funny. every single hit he strike made us laugh like mad. we laughed until squatted down on the floor, stomach cramped, tears all flow out, etc.

DDR-ing
whee!~ and dinner is next. we walked to Bugis Junction to decide what to eat. and majority voted Japanese food, so we looked like some idiots walked back to Iluma again. lol.and lastly, we decided on Ebisboshi Shotengai @ Iluma. my first time eating there, and their self-ordering system is damn cool. we used a pen and tap on what we wanted to eat, and so on.
we ordered one side dish, Okonomiyaki Style Gyoza, to share. and i ordered my set of Fried Asparagus Prawns and Pork Cutlet, with Pink Guava drink! haha. i love sour drink!

@ Ebisboshi Shotengai

cute eh?

Fried Asparagus Prawns and Pork Cutlet

Japanese style of lo-hei
HUAT AH!!!

time to indulge, friends!

hungry people!
anyway, it was really very very funny whenever Rui Feng is around. he tends to do silly things that made people laugh. he was trying to catch the female waitress attention, so he kept on disturbing the girl, asking her to top up the green tea, hot water, asking for mayonnaise sauce, and some totally random unrelated questions =/
he even went to ask for her number and whether can take a picture with her, but sadly. tio rejected! hahaha. i bet the girl can't wait to fled off from this weird uncle. haha.
anyway, this weird uncle suddenly blurted out something to me, he asked me whether i felt protected because there are five policemen with me now -.-" LOL. funny lah him!~

group photo xD
time to digest our food. lol. we went over to Bugis Street to do some Chinese New Year shopping. in the end, i did not get anything for myself. haha. and then, we went deciding whether to chill out at some coffee houses. but lastly, we chose to all go home. and so, we left Bugis at around 10pm.

Sentosa Boardwalk Opening Celebration
yes. after one of our Saturday Chingay Rehearsal, we decided to head down to Vivo City as Ginnette needs to buy some items for her photoshoot, and also to attend the Sentosa Boardwalk Oopening Celebration.
it was raining like mad when we reached Vivo, and we were thinking of giving the Sentosa Boardwalk a miss. so we just went to the respective places to get whatever items we needed.
anyway, the rain kind of stopped when we finished our shopping. and so we just went ahead to the opening, why not? it's free for today xD

Sentosa Boardwalk

Opening Celebration
Footsteps to FUN.

ah hah!~ still got early bird prizes..

all the free goodies we received upon entry xD
anyway, we took part the Foot-to-foot Chain Challenge, to help to be part of the Record Breaker in Singapore Book Of Record. all we did was to step in line and create the longest foot-to-foot chain challenge.
it was pretty fun and proud to be part of the participants who helped in the record breaking.

stickers to be pasted on our right shoulder.

after rain...
while we were on the way to queue up for the foot-to-foot challenge, there's this girl who set up a "stall" to help doing painting on the people. since it was for free, Ginnette and me just went ahead with it. we chose our leg to let her paint on i, and her painting skills were superb!! ahhhh. so pretty!!

the girl painting on our legs!

half way through...

ta-daa.. final product!!

felt like tattoo. lol
and someone behind us made balloon flower for us too! like nice!~ and so, after our painting was done, we quickly went to join in the queue for the Foot-to-foot Chain Challenge which will be starting soon in another 30 minutes time.
and it was so tiring to stand for 30 minutes, somemore must one leg ahead of the other =/

in the queue...

with our balloon flowers!!
yeah, the queue was seriously long. all of us were ready to help break the record, create history in the Singapore Book of Record. when it was almost time, all of us imeediately step in line, and the link must not be broken once the judging by the Singapore Book of Record personnel commences.
once the personnel walked past us, the usher will stamp the top of our hand of each participant as acknowledgement of participation in the challenge. that will form part of the challenge identification once the official counts start.
the queue ahead of us, and the queue behind us.

we have to stand in this way...
and this is the stamp that we got.
well, everything was over, and it's back to free & easy. we decided to walk further in, and enter into Sentosa for free. yap, just for today, there's no need entry fee when going through by the boardwalk.
we walked past Venezia ice cream, and due to the grand opening promotion, all ice cream was in 50% discount. so we just went in and each get ourselves a cup of ice cream @ 1.80 per scoop.

I AM HERE!

Resort World made by flowers. so pretty
haha. don't wanna spoiler ourselves since we will be coming back during Chinese New Year, so we U-turn back to the boardwalk, thinking of walking back to Vivo already.
we saw someone holding this cute bus baord with 2 open windows, and they asked us whether we wanna take a picture with it, and so we go for it.

cute eh!
we walked back to the Zone B booth, half way queueing up for our early bird prizes redemption, when we suddenly got stopped by one of the the staff there, requesting us to join the "Put Your Best Foot Forward Competition"
the competition was for participants to come in with their most fancy footwear and add a Sentosa flavour to their foot and leg decoration and be spotted by the staffs there.
haha. we don't have fancy footwear, just normal sneaker, but because we have leg decoration on our leg, so he was down there asking us to go for the competition. lol. looks like we were easily persuaded! haha.

Sentosa Boardwalk stage.

yes, us with 5 others participants on stage.

and with so many people, photographer, cameraman below..
luckily we experienced all these photographer, cameraman due to the Chingay Media Preview last week. so totally no phobia or fear at all xD ya, anyway we were not in the top 3, but we already win ourselves with on-stage experiences! haha.
and now, we have to walk back to Zone B again, and queue for our early bird prizes again.

the night view.

Early Bird Prizes: limited edition Sentosa ezlink card.

Chingay 2011: Media Preview
this is it, Chingay Media Preview day. have to do a full-dress run for the media, with our blue training tee + 3 quarter or long black pant.
Ginnette came all the way to Subordinate Courts to look for me after my saturday duty. we sort of borrowed the level 3 toilet and prepare. pull on light make-up and coloured contact lens, and then yes! we took almost an hour inside =X haha.

tadaa.. DONE!
went to take train down to Dhoby Ghaut and transferred Circle line down to Promenade Station. and from there, we made our way to the F1 Pit.
what a happy and exciting event, we decided to photo-spam ourselves inside the train.

inside the MRT

Circle line train can see the outside track

a normal picture

playing with our super coloured contact lens.
haha. first time my eyes looked so big xD

funny picture eh?!

PK, puik, Jermine
ME LAH!!~
we reached F1 Pit around 3pm, quickly settled down and get ready for our preparation work to be done. there's also make-up station being set up at the side, with quite a number of make-up artistes being assigned to help the whole 2000 participants for our make-up.
not knowing where to start, Ginnette and me were standing in the middle the tentage, and then when we realised it, those people sitting around the tentage were actually in queue to get their make-up done. haha, since we were standing in the middle, we just joined in the queue. so in other word, WE CUT QUEUE xD.
the queue took pretty long... no wonder they wanted us to reach like 2pm, when our performance was like around 7pm - 8pm!!

PAYM Hip Hop Dance Team
Chingay 2011

supported by: Christ Church Sec Sch, ITE, NYP, NTU & Youth Empire

the people, the crowd, the queue started forming up as early as 3pm
there's a few stages for our make-up to be done.
1st stage: foundation
2nd stage: blushes
3rd stage: silver lip gloss (looked gross)
4th stage: main make-up, eye decor (the blue and silver eye mask) lol
5th stage: eyeliner
6th stage: style hair
7th stage: sprinkle glitters on our hair

PAYM Chingay 2011
Make-up area
everyone is fighting against time, there's like less than 20 make-up artistes, but there's close to 2000 of YOuths waiting and queueing. and there's so many stages to go, like wow.
and too bad for guys who do not put on make-up, they have to go through this for once!

in the midst of the make-up

reaching the queue soon.
finally it's our turn to go through all the stages. the most yucky part was the lip gloss part, they put until so thick and glossy =S. and the most painful part was the removing of my black eyeliner, she used force to remove for me, as if i won't feel any pain like that =/

like tio poison!! haha

NICE?!
while queueing to get our hair styled. haha. such a long queue, even queued until outside. it was near to 6pm by then, dinner catering had arrived, and all of us were distributed one dinner set each. since we were half way queueing, we have no choice but to eat while queueing. lol.
we didn't have good times eating, because the queue kept moving. we were actually sitting on the floor eating, so when the queue moved, we have to grab our dinner box, dinner lid, water bottle and everything to shift one step infront.

our dinner

okay. hair done!!
looked so funny =S
okay well, after we're done, we still have to wait for the rest of the people. what we can do is sit down there and wait. we ended up sleeping while waiting. you see, our bag was deposited at the bag area, we have no phone, no mp3 player. nothing at all. all we can do us SLEEP =)

close to 2,000 YOUths sitting in the tentage
everyone were almost ready at around 7.30pm, before we went out to form our formation. all of us stayed inside the tentage to have some last minute warming up and practising, rehearsing the dance steps.

practising...
and around 8pm plus, finally it's our turn to move out to the performing area. so excited. although it was just media preview, there's no audiences at all. but still considered our very first full-dress run!
and here we go... starting with the 5 minutes walk-in song, a combined remix of 3 songs

Walking in...

Running.... & POSED!
okay, after the full 5 minutes walk-in, we ran and stationed at our perspective spot, and performed for our 2 minutes main performance, a combined remix of 2 songs and this we would be using our LED light in our performance xD

LED Light.
this was utterly stressful for our 2 minutes main preformance, because right infront of us were standing with alot alot alot camera-man, media people, photographer. and it was basically one whole stretch of them standing infront.
so for the main performance, we would be stationed at our position, and they just stood infront and used the camera to zoom on your face, like =.=''
like having a short 2 minutes of fame all of a sudden. haha. anyway, the media preview went on smoothly, and now we were fully prepared how would it be like during the 2 actual day on the 11th and 12th Feb. STAY TUNE!!
