Ginnette 22nd Birthday | Barbeque

another birthday post, and there's still more to come!!!! why did everyone choose to be borned on the second half of the year? i myself too xD

well, for Ginnette's 22nd birthday, we decided to hold a barbeque at Joshua's house bbq pit area. and the theme for today's event would be: THE CHECKERED TEAM!!

i volunteered myself together with Audrey and Joshua to be in the preparation team. so on the day itself, we met 1.45pm at Suntec Carrefour to do some last minute shopping.

it was around 3.15pm and we have to find the fastest way to get back to Joshua's house at Bukit Panjang, because the rest of the people will be there by 6pm. and we still have preparation work to do =/

after discussing all the possible ways to go back, we decided to take bus 190, because it really was not an ideal choice to take train to Bukit panjang. that area was more accessible by bus than by MRT. our main problem was, we have too many things to carry, and the bus 190 bus stop was very far away. we have to walk from Suntec to the bus stop at SMU, and that was where i came from just now =/

the funniest thing was.. we saw bus 190 at the bus stop when we were crossing the road, so all of us ran for the bus with all the Carrefour bags we were carrying, and Joshua's sandal went "piak piak piak" when he ran. he looked exactly like those "auntie" you see at the market LOL!~

well, reached Joshua's house finally. greeted his parent and off we go to his kitchen and start work!!

and i swore i fell deeply in love with the ABALONE SAUCE found at Joshua's house!!!! the abalone sauce smell so so so fragrant, i kept on sniffing it through the bottle, like totally obssessed with it. Audrey thought i went drank after smelling it too much!!

after all the marinating work was done, we carried all the things down to the bbq pit and started preparing for stuffs and so on. i am pretty bad at starting the fire, so i just helped out in washing the mushrooms, etc.

and not long after, the rest of the people, Eisha, Ginnette, Moo, Shun An and Ting Yu, came. Shun An and Ting Yu came to help me with the mushroom washing, while Moo went to rescue Audrey with the charcoal and fire xD.

while they were busy bbq-ing, i decided to dump my job aside, and take pictures!!!! and we were totally into the carema's world, camwhoring non-stop!!

foods were finally ready. mostly chao ta, but avoid eating the chao ta part, it was still edible. too bad all of us were too hungry, so no one did quality check on the foods. but as long as it's still edible, who cares anyway!!! lol

i was following the steps given by Audrey to cook those mushrooms. she asked me to pour soy sauce into the mushroom bowl and boiled it, we poured half bowl of it... and in the end, the mushrooms tasted so salty like hell.

and next, we wrapped those fish and prawns with aluminium foil and bbq it. and then we also wrapped potatoes up, threw it together with the charcoal and baked it.

chao ta hotdog. delicious fish. salty mushroom. highly-attacked potatoes!!

and since majority were lazy to remove the prawns shell. i volunteered myself and helped them removed ALL the prawns shell and personally feed all of them with prawns!!!! i removed plates after plates of prawn, i think there's like 4 plates of it. peeled until my first 2 fingers were burning.

so whenever the hot plate of prawns were up, the first prawn i peeled would be for me and i would purposely choose the biggest prawn for myself xD. and then the rest would have to queue up for me to feed them with the next prawn. i fed almost everyone except Ginnette who don't really like prawn =/

and there was a period of time that Joshua and Moo went missing, i think Ginnette more or less knew what's going to happen next. haha. they went up back to the house to bring the cake, the DIY board and the present down.

we bought her a camera TRIPOD

immediately, she tested out her tripod. she wrapped the tripod onto the bar, attached the camera with it, and we can actually took picure without us holding the camera. so cool!!

and it was already 10pm plus, we started packing up the place, helped to deliver things up to Joshua's house and then left for home.

anyway, this clique of friends were like expanding and expanding. it was actually from 2 different cliques, but it was somehow merged together into one big clique.. and Ting Yu today joined into our big family clique as well xD

and so, we've decided to find a new name for the clique.. and Joshua suggested Feriae as the new clique name, which in Latin means "Free Day". Hello to our new clique name!

actually, i was supposed to go on leave today. i took leave and it was approved. but one of my colleagues had something important, and so i exchanged my leave with him.

so, i am back to work on my birthday, and to deal with nonsense people.

and i was treated to Swensens by Lisa and Xue Li together we had lunch with other working friends.

and it was super rushed to have only 1 hour to eat. by the time all of us placed finish the order, it was already 1.20pm, and when the food was served, it was 1.35pm.

and we had a total of 10 main courses, 8 side dishes, 1 ice-cream and 1 drink.. to be finished within 15 minutes.

we were eating super fast.. didn't even have the time to slowly enjoy the food. and i finished my share of food by 1.55pm.

Lisa, Shalee, Xue Li and me left first as we have to cover counter duty, so the rest stayed back to finish up the foods and settle the bill, while we quickly walked back to work.

anyway, my mother bought a birthday cake for me. she had been hunting high and low for my favourite mango cake, but could not find any. so she just bought a coffee cake for me.

and she's so funny. she bought some mangoes back and decided to ADD in to the cake, so that it'll be "MANGO" cake. =.=

my mother self-praise herself that it looked even more nicer than original. LOL. and she was proudly praising how talented and creative she was. haha.

and, and, and.... i also received a birthday card from Stephen Goh.

my first thought when i saw the name.... Stephen? Who? who is Stephen Goh? and then i saw this Prudential name card...

and i remembered, i was stopped by this Stephen at Bukit Merah last year, with his Prudential insurance booth. and was totally held up by him for hours. introducing me alot of saving plans.

i was just one step, one final step to sign-up for the plan as i really couldn't shake him off.. and i rejected for it a few days later, making him lost one sale =X. lol.

and lastly.....

Deepavali 2009 @ Abi's House

i was invited for Deepavali again xD so happy! for the 3rd time!~ together with Abi, Audrey and Lisa's RP friends!!

meet up with Audrey and Lisa first before going to her house at Henderson Road. and Abi was back to her old pattern. forcing people to eat alot!!! when she saw you only have one scoop of rice, she will forced you to take another scoop! lol.

i die also don't want let go of my plate =D. one scoop means one scoop!!! did not take alot of food, because i don't take mutton! just rice with LOTS of potatoes!! but i ate 3 chicken wings! a payback for what i forced it on Audrey and Lisa last night at Astons =X!!

we played some paper game and then guess what we were doing in people's house, somemore in this festive season? Abi forced all of us to watch Indian movie in some SCV channel!! lol.

we were down there complaining and chanting "Channel U", she just refused to let go of the remote control! hahahaha. so when she went to the room or what, Audrey just changed the channel using the control on the TV! lol.

but in the end, we lost! Abi changed the channel again with the REMOTE CONTROL IN HER HAND!!! ='( but anyway, some of them really got glued to it.

damn. i got food poisoning in the middle of the night. i was watching show happily until around 1am, when i am about to go to bed, i felt something up my throat making me feel like puking.

so i went to throw up in the toilet. thinking that after that would feel much better. BUT NO!!! i vomited again and again non-stop. i vomited all my dinner out. i can see noodle, vegetable that turned black already, and some unknown stuffs. haha.

and i am very sure that i emptied everthing inside my stomach, but the vomit continues! nothing came ot except yellowish acid and water. i felt like dying already. and then, after all the vomiting, i had diarrhoea. i shit like a water hose!!!!

i couldn't stand it anymore. so i asked my mother and brother accompanied me go SGH!! reached there around 2.30am. still have to take temperature, register, wait here and there. already no energy le, still want me walk around!!

finally got to see the doctor, and i was given an injection ON MY BUTT!! oh no!~

the doctor asked me whether want to go home, or stayed for 2 hours under observation. of course, go home. who would want to stay 2 hours until 5am and then cab home myself?!

INJECTIONS!!!! T_T

and there goes my money down the drain, $90 consultation fees and $20 cab fare!! i'm already so broke this October le, still unexpectedly have to spend this kind of money. sigh!~
