9th January 2011 - Sunday

Malaysia, Punggai Trip Day 3

seriously, all of us overslept on our last day. only Joshua who managed to wake up on time and went out for breakfast. as for the rest, all still sleeping soundly until like 9.30am. and the van will be leaving at 10am!!~

omg, 4 people haven't wash up, haven't pack up, haven't even have the time to go out for breakfast. we do everything in x3 speed, and those people outside kept on knocking our door to stress us. completed packing up everything just nice at 10am, went out and the van was already waiting down there. we can forget about having our breakfast. lol.

final checking for any leftover or forgotten items, and time to leave the chalet. board the van and followed them back to Singapore. but then, we felt it was kind of wasted to come all the way to Malaysia, and we didn't even spend or buy anything here.

so Moo suggest to the in-charge here to ask the driver to drop us at JB City Square Mall. at least, for us to do some shopping and at the same time have our lunch there. we were definitely starving by the time.

and they were playing the movie, Ip Man 2 on the van.

although this would be my second time watching it, but it was still exciting as ever. haha. anyway, we reached JB City Square Mall at around 11.35amand Ip Man was at its most exciting and climax part, but sadly we have to get down. lol. it's okay, i watched the show before already xD

alighted the van, grabbed all our bags and bid farewell to the rest who is going back to Singapore. and then, a new journey begins!! haha

after walking one round of the place, we started hunting for a place to have our lunch. we were already starving due to the fact that we didn't have our breakfast at all this morning!

anyway, we came across this restaurant called Season's. and they were like having some interlink with Swensens which i have no idea how was their relationship like. you see, i saw Swensen's logo on their menu. so there must be some interlink with each other, and the food they served was exactly the same. ahhhh, am i right?

i ordered Seafood Baked Rice!!!

and it was really very affordable to eat at JB. 5 sets of food only costed RM87.80 ($36.90). My Seafood Baked Rice was only RM13.90 ($5.80). so freakin' cheap!! anyway, their price was the same in JB and in Singapore. the only difference was, one is in Malaysia Riggits, and the other was in Singapore Dollars! LOL

after lunch, we shop around the place before heading to café BR for ice-cream desserts. hmm, so many ice-cream choices to choose, i decided to take the basic chocolate chip, one scoop with wafer cone @ RM9++

continued to do some last minute shopping before heading down to the checkpoint to take public transport back. bought a few pieces of printed tees there as well.

time to move on, and we followed the sign which led our way back to the Malaysia Checkpoint. got our passport stamped, took 170 back to Singapore Checkpoint, scan our passpart and fingerprint. officially out of Malaysia, and back to Singapore! haha.

went down to queue for the bus 160 which will be going all the way to Jurong East Interchange, much more nearer for us to go home than going home from Kraji. haha. but 160 seriously took very long to come. we at least waited for 30 - 45 minutes for it to come.

anyway, it was indeed a tiring 3 days trip. although it was really very boring at Punggai, especially when there's no shopping, no food court, no restaurant, nothing.. not even wi-fi for us to communicate with the outside world.

we were like totally stuck in somewhere very kampong-like. but the 3 days we 5 shared together was definitely worth it. the stargazing at night was even more awesome. i have never seen the sky full of stars before, really!

yes, and not forgetting how we spend our daytime together. we explored randomly around the place, back to the room... and then eat & sleep, eat & sleep. seriously, out of my so many overseas trip, this trip totally broke my record of sleeping the most in a single trip. lol.

and one last thing i have to mention. i don't know why, but when i woke up this morning, my hands and legs were full of mosquitoes bites! i remembered very clearly, i covered myself from head to toe. why do i still get so many bites, while the rest who have most of their hands and legs exposed out, got no bites at all?!

those mosquitoes were really very clever. they purposely bite on the open gap in between my pant and sock. lol. and overall, i got myself 29 bites in total! NICE!!~

Punggai Trip Day 2

8th January 2011 - Saturday

Malaysia, Punggai Trip Day 2

woke up at around 8am, washed up everything and prepared to go out for our breakfast. anyway, before we went for our breakfast, we walked around the place, and took photos of the surrounding. you see, we arrived at around 11.30pm last night, everything was dark to us, now is the time to snap every single things we see xD

after breakfast, it's totally free & easy for us till 1pm. the best thing was.... there's absolutly nothing here. no mall, no shopping, no restaurant, no nothing. and obviously there's no wi-fi here too haha. i'm going to be CUT AWAY from the online world for 3 days. lol we have to spend our one whole day here, totally testing our patience, away from the luxurious life we used to have, lol.

although there's nothing, there's still playground for us to play, there's still sea to enjoy the sea breeze, beautiful scenery for us to take picture with. i'm contented for once xD

time to move on to the beach area. there's this wild mushroom on the ground that caught almost everyone's attention. those with camera started to spam photos on it, as if it was some kind of mushroom-model!!! hahaha.

we even found a tree which the tree trunk grew diagonally up, and so we can climb up and sit on it. i don't know why i got phobia going up, maybe due to i'm not wearing any shoe but slipper plus my slipper has no friction. i'm afraid i might trip and fall and break my toe nail which was pretty long.

anyway, i managed to go up with the help of Ginnette and Joshua. hahaha.

enough of the beach area, time to move on. we were really walking aimlessly, we just walked wherever the road led us to. no fixed destination, just walked only.

and there's 2 cows by the roadside. lol. i wondered do they dashed out to the road? hahaha.. and we also spotted cow dung, such a big pile with funny green flies, yes, they were in green, bright green somemore. haha. never really wanted to post the photo out, it looked really disgusting haha.

we walked past this big piece of lalang field, and we suddenly wanted to stand behind those lalang grass to create the lalang feel. lol. and those grass is making me so itchy..

and after walking for how long, finally we came across one provision shop. yes, just pathetic ONE. immediately went in and grabbed ourselves a can of coke @ RM1.50. tasted soooo heavenly especially in this kind of super hot weather.

finally the walk came to an end, a dead end.

it's a dead end finally, we have no choice but to u-turn back to our chalet. thinking of going back for lunch, but lunch not ready yet, and since we totally have nothing to do, we went back to our room and sleep =X took a short nap, but we ended up sleeping for 1.5 hour.

woke up at 1.30pm, and out we go for lunch.

after lunch, we went back to our room, played Pictureka! again, listened music, stoned for awhile....... and power, we went back to sleep xDD hahaha.. this is practically the one and only one overseas trip that i spent most of my time sleeping. eat and sleep, eat and sleep. lol

and the next time when we woke up, it's 6pm plus already. time to go for dinner. see, i was right! it's all about eat & sleep!!!!! but before that, we saw those astronomy people already set up their camera, telescope all those. ready to catch the sunset, and prepare for stargazing later on.

and we also joined in, and waited for the sunset. and it was freaking cold with the wind kept blowing to our face. and unfortunately, we didn't really managed to see any awesome sunset due to the clouds that kept blocking the sun.

we saw swings again, this time round it was wooden plank one. it's more harder to swing than the normal one. gonna play like a kid again =D

Xue Ni spotted this tiny kitten at one corner, so cute. and she was like mesmerised by it. haha. and we also saw one dead kitten died inside a drain or what. the drain was without it's metal lid, and i guessed that kitten walked blindly and fell into the trap, probably unable to climb up and die of starvation. so poor thing.

while we were eating half way, it started to rain heavily. wow, i can see all of them started dashing out to the dark and save their camera and telescope. while Xue Ni went to save the kitten back to the under shelter. lol.

all were pretty disappointed that it rained at the wrong timing. hopefully it was just some passing-by rain, and the sky will be cleared soon!!

and thank god, it really was some passing-by rain. it stopped finally. and again, we saw people started to set up their camera again. hahaha. anyway, this Punggai trip finally had some value at night. the sky here was so awesome, when i looked up, i saw the sky full of stars!!!! really FULL OF STARS!!

but it's on and off due to those low clouds that kept moving. but nevertheless, i have never seen the sky full of stars before!!

anyway, it started to drizzle again. so we went back to our room, decided to set our alarm to 2am to continue to stargaze, but i seriously doubt any of us can wake up at 2am. hahaha.

so it's time to sleep. me back to my old style again, i don't want any stupid mosquito to attack me, so i'm like wrapped from head to toe. from jacket, to long pant, to sock. everywhere fully covered except my face.

and it was really warm like mad. sleeping on the bed is so much hotter than sleeping on the mattress below!! i don't know why. maybe science theory applies: hot air rises, cold air sinks. the bed area only can receive hot air?! lol
